😎👌Connection between the two parts of the forest. Built in 2003, it is like a small treetop path.

The eastern historical part and the western North American part are separated by the Zeisiggrund, through which the state road leads from Dresden via Freital and Tharandt to Freiberg. The valley overcomes the 117 meter long Zeisiggrund bridge, a filigree construction made of wood and stainless steel, was completed in November 2003 and cost € 645,000. In 2006 it received the Saxon State Prize for Building Culture.

The first drafts for the almost 120 m long and up to 11 m high wooden bridge come from architecture students at the TU Dresden and were finally implemented by the Dresden planning office Bonk und Partner. The bridge was built by the renowned timber construction company Schmees and Lühn from Freesenburg, Emsland. For this, more than 100 m3 of spruce and larch lumber were used.

The bridge is also a figurehead for modern architecture, the use of the sustainably produced raw material wood and, last but not least, the forest botanical garden, for which it is intended to attract more visitors.

The new bridge connects the historical part of the garden with the 'ForstPark Tharandt' expansion area, which will also be open to the public for the first time when the bridge is inaugurated. This offers the unique opportunity to participate in the creation of a new park in addition to a historical park with one of the largest collections of trees in Europe.
