A nice quiet place with a lot of potential for beautiful photos.

The Tharandter Schlossteich is originally an artificial mill pond. Its name derives from the castle above it, which in earlier years was called "Schloss" (not to be confused with the villa with tower next to the castle, now called Castle).
The exact time when the pond was formed can probably no longer be determined. Perhaps it can be narrowed down between 1216 (first mention of a "Tharandter", the Boriwo de Tarant) and 1378. An interest register (tax register) from 1378 has been preserved, in which a "Teichmol under dem Slos" is listed with an annual fee of 36 groschen.
A very beautiful pond that invites you to linger.👍
