The Brüderweg is a historic hiking trail that connects Tharandt with Hainsberg. The trail is about 4 kilometers long and has an elevation difference of about 200 meters.

It was built in the 18th century by two brothers who were foresters in the Tharandt Forest. The trail served them to reach their workplaces and transport wood.

A beautiful high-altitude trail in the Weißeritztal slopes between Tharandt and Freital is the Brüderweg. It leads through dense beech forests along the slope on the left side of the valley and offers great views of the valley. At first it's pleasantly wide, then it becomes a little narrower and has more of a mountain path feel. It's also really exciting because of the railings, bridges and ropes. Before you descend back into the valley, you should take a detour to the Ofenfelsen Freital, which can be found on the extension of the Brüderweg.
