From the park at Městské sady you have a great view of St. Vitus Church across the Vltava River.

Kostel sv. Jošta ve městě Český Krumlov. A bit of the history of this place.
This site was originally a chapel or church of St. Josch, founded before 1334 by Peter I. of Rozmberk, which was part of the Rozmberk Hospital. 2, west entrance, broken portal, visible from the adjacent corridor of the same house). After 1546, the church probably came under the patronage of Anna Rosenberg of Rogendorf, and after her death in 1562, William Rosenberg, son of Anna, the church and the boarding house were not returned to the hospital. In 1596, Petr vok from Rosenberg began a Renaissance reconstruction of the temple, which was led by the architect Domenico Benedetto Cometta from Ekturn. This restructuring significantly transformed the church. It was in the shape of an asymmetrical two-seater ship with a steep angle above the narrower southern ship. In 1598, the church, recently consecrated in the name of the Holy Trinity, was dedicated to the Krumlov Protestants. Due to the growing influx of German, mostly non-Catholic population into the city, it existed already until the middle of the 16th century. in the 18th century, sermons were conducted in German. However, the church was also used by members of the fraternal unity, of which Petr Vok Rožmberka was also a big supporter. So, since November 1598, to the great displeasure of the Archbishop of Prague, the evangelical priest Andreas Bodisius preached here, but already in 1599 he was recalled. A year later, Emperor Rudolph II. The Habsburg banned the non-Catholic use of the church. When Kateřina Ludanická, the wife of Petr Vok of Rozmberk, who was a Lutheran, died in 1601, her remains were briefly buried in this church before they were transferred to the Rozmberk family tomb in the Vyšší Brod monastery.
