A weekend prelude in the Hüttener mountains to supply us with fresh mushrooms for the weekend😉. For a long time it looked like we would come home with an empty bag, but shortly before the end we found some chanterelles😋.
Naturpak Hüttener Berge offers a lot of well-marked hiking trails, bike paths and single trails. Brochures with 27 tours in the nature park can be found on numerous information boards. The brochure can also be downloaded here: naturpark-huettenerberge.de/startseite

Today we wanted to look for mushrooms for dinner in the Segeberger Forest. Segeberger Forst is the most beautiful forest in the area, where supposedly a lot of mushrooms are supposed to grow.
We actually found a lot of mushrooms: death cap mushrooms, bitterlings, witch's cobs, curls, etc., but not a single edible mushroom😪.
But now I know why: at a speed of 20 km / h you just can't find mushrooms 😉😂.
It was still a very nice walk for the soul: a beautiful forest with many firs, pines and larches, anthills, many butterflies and bumblebees on the countless flowers ...
The only minus: we always ended up in front of a wooden gate, with a sign: Forest path closed, and had to turn back. Unfortunately, you can't even find the blocked paths on the map.

Actually, we wanted to buy char for the weekend from Reese in Sarhusen and go for a walk. But things always turn out differently: the shop at the fishing ponds is open until 2 p.m., but closed on weekends.
But the hike on the Bünzer Au is definitely worth it. Right at the beginning you can see sea eagles circling over the fish ponds, unfortunately too far away for the cell phone camera. Our shortcut through the birch forest is not accessible, completely overgrown. So further on the edge of the field, not particularly desirable, I fell very deep into the ditch😖.
We looked for fresh beaver tracks but found none. After all, we found a gnawed birch that we've never seen before.
And on the way we found a lot of chanterelles and a few chestnuts as a jackpot to replace the char Sa.

The Schwansen peninsula lies between the Schlei and the Baltic Sea.
Small villages with magnificent courtyards, mansions and charming thatched roofs characterize the landscape and it is not uncommon for you to have the feeling that time has stood still here.
And today it was all adorned with a magnificent sea of flowers. Under the motto swans in bloom, you can see wide blooming stripes on the edge of the field, roses, hollyhocks and hydrangeas bloom in front of the thatched roofs. One highlight follows the other: the beautiful listed village Sieseby with thatched houses and church from the 12th century with an old cemetery, the grinding ferry to Arnis, the smallest town in Germany Arnis with rustic houses and Schifferkirche, places Kappeln and Olpenitz, the Baltic coast between Schönhagen and Damp, Gut Damp from the 16th century with a magnificent gatehouse. And a wonderful landscape too.
It just so happens that we have a well-developed educational trail about sea eagles and other birds of prey in the Schlei region near Damp.

Every year a straw figure competition takes place in the Probstei, Probsteier Korntage.
Creative residents of 19 communities have been creating impressive straw figures for around 15 years. For four weeks, the communities present their straw figures with an extensive program of events.
Although the grain days have failed again this year, some communities have created straw figures.
We drove back and forth through the provost to discover these straw figures. My favorite this year is the Balu bear in Wendtorf. I am curious to see if anyone before you will find other straw figures😉.You can see the straw figures from the last few years here:

Today komoot let me down 😬. Right after the start, the planned tour disappeared, so we let ourselves drift. We wanted to do a short tour before we went swimming in the Stocksee. The Stocksee is probably no longer an insider tip: Thanks to its own spring, the water is a few degrees colder than in other lakes, but it is crystal clear.
We have combined a lot of cycle paths: Mönchsweg, Bischofsradweg, Herrenhausradweg, Felderradweg and others. There were very nice places there: church in Bosau, Gut Glasau, church in Surau, gatehouse in Seedorf ... we were in Berlin too😉.

Since we had an appointment in Bremen today, we decided to make a detour to the Hohen Moor near Bremervörde on the way back. And that was the right decision😍. The high moor is a dream, many moor lakes, birches, pine ... You walk on embankments between the moor lakes, the paths spring under your feet, the heather begins to bloom, dragonflies and butterflies fly everywhere überall. Unfortunately, you couldn't stop until you got her in front of the camera. Since we were the only visitors to the moor, all mosquitoes and horseflies pounced on us despite mosquito spray😱🦟🪰. But it's one of the most beautiful moors I've ever seen. Maybe you could leave out the eastern part and rather take a lap between the lakes on the narrow paths.

Nice after-work tour on the Schwentine between Oppendorfer Mühle and white bridge, nice in the shade to escape the heat☀️. I couldn't believe my eyes, ceps and chanterelles grew along the way. There is a small fruit farm near Oppendorfer Mühle, where you can buy regional products such as fruit, cheese, sausage and wine. A specialty is the sea buckthorn wine, which the shop owner's grandpa creates himself selbst. We went back through the wildlife park in Raisdorf, here you can watch many animals, although today the animals are hiding in shady places.

Today we wanted to do a bike tour exclusively through nature. We mainly drove off-road, on gravel, sand, slab and grass paths. Under no circumstances should you ride a racing bike😉. Starting in Lohn, we drove to the Hohner See with the viewing platform, on through the Königsmoor, to the inland dunes in Loher Gehege, on the Ochsenweg to renatured sand pits near Owschlag, on to Owschlager Moor, to Sorgwohlder inland dunes and then back through Fockbecker Moor after scorn. We hardly met anyone on the way, probably everyone was on overcrowded beaches today😄. At the end we watched young otters. More nature is not possible🤩.

A bit of luck always has to be there, so off to Glückstadt😉. There was so much to see again: right after the start of the inland dunes Nordoe and Krempermoor with many ponds, the path to Glückstadt lined with old courtyards, Glückstadt with its old town and beautiful harbor, very nice return trip to Itzehoe an der Stör with many meander loops ... Almost at the end there was a well-deserved latte macchiato with cake in the cozy bistro Moby Dick ...
