A nice bike tour mainly on quiet paths between grain and corn fields. From Kükels we went to the Nütschau Monastery, the northernmost Benedictine monastery in Germany. Continue to Grabauer See and fish ponds with the Prinzeninsel. There is a bird watching station at Grabauer See, where various species of ducks, gray herons, great egrets, cormorants and, with a bit of luck, ospreys, sea eagles and the kingfisher can be observed. It went back over the Klingberg with the Neverstaven telecommunications tower.A highlight was the church in Sülfeld, which was equipped with beach chairs, loungers, parasols and suitcases inside. A real place for encounters, even dogs and other animals were welcome.

On this hot weekend, many vacationers go to the Baltic Sea or North Sea, so we went in the other direction, namely to Berlin to Potsdamer Platz😂🤣. In addition to a few magnificent mansions in Muggesfelde, Seedorf and Glasau, we saw above all imposing, shady avenues, many courtyards and huge fields. This time they worked hard in the fields. And after the hot day we found refreshment in the Stockseesee.

A nice, quiet round through the nature reserve Sehlendorfer Binnensee and back barefoot in the water on the coast.
A hiking trail leads through the nature reserve, from which large parts of the area can be overlooked.
There are still surprisingly quiet places on the Baltic Sea😊. Even in Hohwacht there wasn't much going on. You could see that only the short stretches of beach, which can be easily reached by car and only a few meters on foot, were well attended, the rest of the beach was pretty empty and invited for a swim, which we then did🤩 .Unfortunately I accidentally pressed the STOP button, so the second part follows .....

A nice bike tour through Dithmarschen with lots of nature, churches, locks, barrages and sheep and again sheep.
From Friedrichstadt we crossed the bridge to Lunden, with the church with the cemetery of the sexes. Here the deceased of the families and families living in the Lunden parish, rich in money and influence, were buried.
We went on to the nature reserve Lundener Niederung, with a lookout tower. Continue to the Stellerburg. The Stellerburg is considered to be the northernmost ring wall castle of the Saxon type.
From Stellerburg to Weddingstedt with a very beautiful church (the only church that was open) and the Aurora wedding mill. Then back via Tennstedt, also with a beautiful church. At the Eider and over the Nordfeld lock, it went back to Friedrichstadt. I was able to try out my brand new smartphone bike mount with a power bank😊. It worked out great👍.

A very nice hike along the steep coast between Weseby and Missunde😊. Lately there have been major cliffs crashing, as you can see in the pictures. The path leads directly to the steep bank in the forest. The path on the steep coast through a birch forest is particularly beautiful. In Missunde there is a megalithic tomb and a memorial to the battle near Missunde between Germans and Danes in 1864.
A ferry connects Missunde with Brodersby.
In any case, a clear recommendation 👍.

Since the only point of sale of the Holtseer Landkäserei in Kiel on Holtenauer Straße was closed, we went to Holtsee by bike to buy the delicious Holtsee cheese. Fortunately, the cheese crate had extended opening times today, in summer it is open until 4 p.m. on Saturday👍 (otherwise only until 12:30 p.m.).
A nice bike tour, on quiet, low-traffic roads (apart from the section between Bernstein, Holtsee and Sehestedt). We crossed the canal twice with the free ferry, in Landwehr and Sehestedt⛴.
Just a nice, quiet and very hot Saturday, far away from the Baltic Sea vacationers👍.

A beautiful, lonely hike through the nature reserve Kleiner Binnensee, even during the holiday season. In addition to the small inland lake, the nature reserve also includes salt marshes, swamp meadows and the upstream beach section with ramparts and dunes. A 400m long plank path leads through the nature reserve. From the boardwalk and from a viewpoint on the other side of the inland lake you can see cormorants, gray herons, great white herons, ducks, geese and other bird species. In Lippe there is a small marina where you can chew cod or butter directly from the fisherman in the morning.

A round from Elmshorn via Kollmar to Glückstad. Up to Glückstadt we had to face very strong headwinds. To do this, we caught the passenger ferry in Kronsnest apart from the operating hours, because it only runs on weekends. Somehow I often stop in front of a non-working ferry😪. So change the plan, from the barrage.
A beautiful, even if very windy bike path next to the dike leads us in the middle of sheep, horses and cows to Glückstadt. Glückstadt is a charming little town with a beautiful harbor and old houses. The focal point is the market square with the town hall and the church, which is interrupted by the Fleth and taper radially on the seven streets.
We were swept back to Elmshorn on narrow, low-traffic streets at many old farms. This is how an e-bike has to feel😂.
A really nice, varied tour with Glückstadt as the highlight 😊.

The Dosenmoor is the largest regenerating and partially preserved raised bog in Schleswig-Holstein. It is exciting to watch the changes in vegetation throughout the year. Completely barren in spring, cotton grass begins to bloom in early May, followed by swamp callas in late May to July. In early August, the moorland begins to transform the canned bog into a purple sea.
This time we caught the meantime: a few last swamp callas, the beginning of the heather bloom and for the first time this year carnivorous plants.
We saw many different butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, some storks and cranes.
Another beautiful day, so much fascinating nature🤩. An absolute recommendation👍.
