Today, Rosa and I enjoyed a fantastic ridge hike with magnificent views – especially recommended in late autumn to early spring because of the stunning vistas.



The evening before, I changed the route I'd saved a year ago.

After a week of fog, finally sunshine again.



A short tour in Ybbsitz, which we had planned to do a week ago.



We drive uphill from Ybbsitz because of the extremely strong wind.



Only a short section in the shade is icy; otherwise, the farm tracks are clear and sunny.

We actually wanted to do a short hike in Ybbsitz after lunch. But during the short drive, we noticed a cloud front in the area. We still wanted to enjoy the sunshine, just like at home.

We set off in a rather chilly -12.5 degrees Celsius – thankfully, there's no wind, and the cold is easily bearable thanks to the exercise.



Following forest roads and hiking trails, we pass

Today I'm meeting Jacek @Bezufahe🇺🇦✌️ at the parking lot by the cross-country ski trail in Innerrosenau.



It snowed a little last night, so we had to be careful on the roads in the sub-zero temperatures.



We set off from Innerrosenau at -7 degrees Celsius, first heading up the forest road, then branching

The starting point is at the Gasthaus Putzmühle, a working farm – the roast pork is said to be excellent. (Reopens January 2nd)

Twice we deviate from the farm track and hike steeply uphill along the edge of the forest, up the meadow

Today, we set off for the Großer Göller with two pairs of Rosas. The trail was snow-free up to the upper section below the summit. Then we put on our crampons, as it was icy in the dwarf pine thicket – we were relatively sheltered from the wind up to that point, apart from a few gusts.

According to photos from "Komoot Schali," I know the snow conditions are perfect for this hike.



Back home, we're already feeling gloomy after a week of dreadful fog. So we're enjoying today all the more with a cloudless sky, no contrails from airplanes
