In 1974, the pedestrian bridge was built over the Ringbahn and the city motorway between the Hohenzollerndamm and Heidelberger Platz S-Bahn stations. The name "Hoher Bogen" came about by itself, but there is also a ridge in the Bavarian Forest with this name.
