The Ihme Center is a fascinating architectural “monster”. It rarely took me so long to “hike” over 2.8 kilometers. Now the revitalization of the “new landmark for Hanover” has received a new boost. As the “anchor tenant”, the city wants to pay 2.7 million rent annually for 23,700 square meters if the majority owners push ahead with the renovation and revive the neglected levels in the base area.

Monumental building with 860 apartments and shopping arcades from the 1970s between the kitchen garden and the Black Bear. The apartments are usually condominiums, which makes ownership and upcoming renovations difficult. The owners of the now ailing entire property have changed frequently in recent years. Promised renovations have largely failed to materialize.
