Nicely restored fountain with new seating

Attention - the subsequent path through the water valley is - at least as of May 2020 - not accessible. It is well under discussion to develop this again

The Wassertalbrunnen was previously called the "three-tube fountain" and is located in the Wassertal. It dates from 1962 (see inscription). In 2020 it was newly renovated, given a name stone made of sandstone and got a new nice resting place with 3 benches and 1 table.

This quaint fountain is away from all the usual hiking routes and markings. Instead, a large sandstone boulder with the yellow lettering "Drei Röhren-Brunnen 550 m" (with a carved arrow) shows the way to it. This sandstone signpost is located on the district road between Schwarzsohl and Elmstein, directly opposite the "Steinernes Kreuz" cultural monument. From here it goes downhill for approx. 600 m straight to the fountain (on the way there is a yellow "Wassertalbrunnen" sign from the PWV).

The initials of Esthal citizens can be found on the name stone "Wassertal Brunnen 2020" as well as the notice board for keeping this beautiful rest area clean (as has already been the case with other fountains on the Esthaler "Brunnenweg"). - Thanks to all Esthalers who contributed to this beautiful piece of earth!

The fountain itself seems to belong to the municipality of Weidenthal or the Verbandsgemeinde Lambrecht, because it only appears there on the website.

As of July 2021, the path through the Wassertal is still not accessible. Followed this a long way, but then up the mountain to the next path. Wellington boots and chainsaw would be an advantage.
