The “Round Table” commemorates the discussions and dramatic events of the peaceful revolution of 1989 in the GDR. It stands directly on the former dividing line between divided Germany, as a symbol of the regained unity of the 16 federal states in peace and freedom.
The concrete parts consist of remnants of the former border fortifications.

Thanks to a generous donation from the Rasdorf family business Josef Wiegand GmbH & Co. KG, a completely new set of coats of arms of all German federal states can now be seen on the front of the round table at the Haus auf der Grenz.
