Dear hiking friends,We (that's komoot, Thomas from EF and I) took a look around our hard-working komoot hiking friends in BB and would now like to try a new variant of the relay hike with you.We have chosen a variant of the SaaleHorizontale ROUND AROUND JENA as an attractive round.
This time the stage starts and goals are fixed. In contrast to previous seasons, we all hike on the same day this time, it is February 27, 2021.
In the meantime we have agreed that the route can be completed on February 26th, 27th or 28th if the deadline is 'tight'. Please coordinate with Thomas or me.
Here is a general overview of the circuit and the 7 individual stages:
      komoot.de/collection/1096105/-virtuelle-komoot-Staffelewanderung-S-a-a-l-e-Horizontale-rund-um-Jena.
The routes indicated there are 'hiking suggestions'. Of course, you can completely deviate from the recommendation, just stick to the start and finish lines of your stage. The direction of walking (A-B or B-A) of your stage is also completely up to you. If you are interested, please enter the doodle bindingly for a stage at:
      doodle.com/poll/fw7u7xvrsar74v6r
You only give the name under which you are active at komoot or your ID, I do not need any further data. Choose your desired stage and submit the form. The following applies: first come, first served and the choice is yours. Please only grab a free 'slot' if you actually plan to hike your stage on the day. Please remember that you can take as many people in your household as you like, but only one person outside the household. (Corona compliant)
I think we are all reasonable enough.
Everyone is responsible for themselves when it comes to provisions and the level of difficulty or fitness. The Saale-Horizontale has a very alpine character in places !! Surefootedness is recommended!
If you are not based near Jena and want to participate, please use the map above to check which stages are suitable for you. again:
      - marks me as a participant at the end of your stage so that I can create the joint collection from all tours
      - Please approach this 'fun event' with the necessary seriousness and think in terms of community
      - Please indicate in the comments below which komoot user you might be taking with you. Direct online posting is not that important in this case, but please release your recording to the public on the evening of February 27th.
Should you not be able to keep your fixed date, you can find a replacement yourself or send me an email so that I can release the stage for other interested parties. If you have any further questions, send an email to gloeckchen33@web.de.
I am looking forward to the relays together and wish all participants a lot of fun! For questions, comments, etc. please write in the comments below.
      -------------------------------------------------- --------

Yesterday it snowed 50 cm here. My morning lap was very exhausting today. As beautiful as the idyll looks, but hopeless without snowshoes. Sometimes sunk in knee high.

As always .... this morning on the fly.
The snow has gone again and what remains is mud .....
However, it was so mild and the birds were chirping beautifully, almost like the beginning of spring.
Soon it will go right back "into the wide world", :))

There was more snow than enough tonight. I don't think anyone was out at that time. But somebody has to start :) It was exhausting for me to constantly trudge through deep snow, it didn't bother the "other". :))

Today I ran a big lap around Rastenberg. The surrounding area has many beautiful places and views to offer.
Ritter Raspe can certainly write much more on this, since he is more of the historian in the corner. :))
In any case, the round is very varied and easy to walk.

Today across the field. I have never seen the reservoir in Bachra so frozen over. Most of the time I am only there with the dog to bathe.
The last part of the way was very windy and difficult to walk.

I don't know why Burgwend appears in the route. I wasn't even near there and it's not on the track either.
      But the rest is true.

The advantage of a loyal companion ..... you get up early on. 😏
The morning ☀ convinced me to go further than I intended. The air was lovely and the ground was frozen nicely.

Today I'm leaving early, hoping the ground is as frozen as the cars. But I was wrong about that. Still, the morning air was good and exercise never hurts.

Unfortunately, the underground is not frozen and the white splendor on top is deceptive.
The headline could also have been ... across the slush. But no matter how. The exercise in the air felt good again.
