The Schweizer Hof is one of the most impressive half-timbered houses in Bretten. Built around 1707, renovated on a voluntary basis around the turn of the century.

In the Middle Ages, the Bretten tithe farm of the Frauenalb nunnery, which was very wealthy in the region, was located on this site. The mighty and extensive cellar vaults under the Schweizer Hof also date from this period and are a sight in themselves.

The Schweizer Hof, which had become very dilapidated, was renovated on a voluntary basis by the Brettener Heimat- und Denkmalpflege citizens' initiative from March 1997 to October 2001.

Today it is a restaurant with outdoor dining.
