The Adam and Eve house is one of the most beautiful half-timbered houses in Paderborn. Built around 1560, the three-storey half-timbered gabled house is characterized by its rich carvings. From left to right, the carved frieze tells the story of the fall of Adam and Eve with the end of the expulsion from paradise. The eponymous frieze is a prime example of both Weser Renaissance architecture and the history of the Reformation. From 1977 to 2015 the Museum of City History was housed here. The house will soon be converted into an open library and will also house the administration of the city library (work in progress).
