Very varied tour with pine and beech forest, which is repeatedly interspersed with oaks and birches. In between a grove with sequoia trees (my guess, I would like to be taught). Finally, an oak forest with gnarled twisted branches, which you can use with a fog machine and twilight as a backdrop for a horror film. Even raised bogs and a small wetland biotope can be found on the route. Most of the tour followed the "Hohe Mark Steig", which consistently stays away from the wide farm roads and tends to use single trails. The view from the fire watch tower, which is open to the public even during Corona times, is sensational.

The tour is particularly beautiful along the Düssel, which flows here from the Bergisch into broader floodplains. There are always opportunities to come to the stream and cool your feet. Lots of farms with sheep, cows or horses on the way. Children have fun. Gruiten village is very idyllic with its old half-timbered houses. Cafés and restaurants invite you to take a break, but are closed due to Corona. We will definitely repeat the tour when it opens again.

Nice hike along the Eifgenbach, Linnefe and Dhünn streams. The dense forests that lined the streams last April have unfortunately largely disappeared, the trunks are piled up to form gigantic mountains on the sides of the road. However, the wild character of the streams and the history-laden soil still comes through in many places.

At the beginning a wonderful route through the Eifel National Park. Open grass landscape with thorny bushes and a wide view of the forests all around. The remains of the former village of Wollsiepen, which was cleared in 1946 to make way for a Belgian military training area, are impressive. The old church still stands here. Strange new bricked-up buildings nearby where house-to-house fighting was practiced. Then down to the dam of the Urfttalsperre. So far it has been a dream hike. Unfortunately, it went for miles along the bank of the lake until it went steeply uphill behind a suspension bridge to the former Nazi cadre forge Vogelsang. Interesting ensemble of buildings, which, as often happens, the architecture from that time seems very depressing to me.

Short tour with a wide view of the Ruhr area on corona-friendly paths that stayed away from the wide, well-frequented ones.

Very nice tour in the valley of the Wupper. Sometimes wonderful views from above, then scrambling between the rocks and down to the river. At the end, up a small stream and back to the starting point. The mountain bikers were a bit annoying in some places, which always appeared on narrow and steep passages.
