The starting point was the commercial area at the airport. I had chosen a lot of paved paths during the thaw, which was actually ok. Over the approach lane with foresight it went to the other side of the airport. From here then on hiking trails towards Holzwickede and Haus Opherdicke. Well spent a little round in the park, which is quite nicely laid out. A detour to the Protestant church was worthwhile. Looked like an old basilica. Now it was back to Holzwickede to the Emscher spring. Then to the airfield. Here hiked along the departure lane with a great view towards Lünen / Hamm. Last stage to the starting point via hiking trails / road.

Starting point: Evangelical Clinic Gelsenkirchen. From there through the beautiful city garden to the Nienhausenbusch Revierpark. Continue towards the Zeche Zollverein and via the Rotthauser Friedhof to the Mechtenberg nature reserve. Up to the Bismarkturm and enjoyed the view of Essen, Gelsenkirchen and Wattenscheid with a snack. Continue to the basalt sound stones and the Rheinelbe slag heap. Here is the ladder to heaven, which of course I also went. Now to the Rheinelbe forest station and through the sculpture forest (I was a bit disappointed because I expected more). From here through allotment gardens and the city park back to the starting point. Once again a tour through the middle of the Kohlenpott, but with a lot of green and nature conservation.

Nice hike without the crowds around the Bruchhausen stones. Definitely again in spring, then the stones will be worked into the route. Not the highlight at the moment with an entrance fee and inaccessible stones. The little silver lake looks really great in winter.
