Beer and service were very good and the Bavarian sausage salad was not to be despised

Where today the Bräustüberl of the Hofbräuhaus Traunstein, which is popular with locals and guests, is located in the middle of the newly designed Traunstein town square, there has always been a brewery, first mentioned in 1598 with the owner Michael Wöhrer. Only bottom-fermented beer was produced here in the so-called "Mittlerer Bräu" as a civil brewery. In contrast to the wheat beer from the Hofbräuhaus under the electoral monopoly, this was only available in the winter months.

On the occasion of a brewery / Bräustüberl, I can't resist - from a purely literary point of view - and I have to briefly mention the humorist Heinz Erhardt (1909 - 1979), who I admire and who is known to a wide audience for his word jokes and "Noch'n poem". was, with one of his – very rare – quote rhymes:
"The four-legged friend only drinks water,
people find beer finer.”
