A bit sleepy and without breakfast, we drive to the train station where we board the train to Villach. Old ÖBB train sets with luggage cars take on the many cyclists. Perhaps we are the only ones who haven't come to Udine via the Alpe-Adria Cycle Route?

Today we switched to the BI 20 AIDA (Alta Italia da Attraversare) cycle route. The route designation isn’t entirely clear. Along the route, I1/I2 is always signposted. Most of the route runs on gravel over flood defences.
