Traunstein

Beautiful cycle paths lead around Traunstein along the Traun. The old town is worth seeing with its many cafes, restaurants and shops with regional products.

If you cycle to the Chiemgau, you should also have visited Traunstein. Until the 20th century Traunstein was an important salt city. With the construction of the world's first pipeline in 1619, the time of the "White Gold" began for the city on the Traun. Even today, many of the original surviving buildings tell of it. Among other things stands with the Saline Chapel one of the largest chapels in Germany in Traunstein.

After the bike tour, the town square with its cafes and inns invites you to linger and enjoy. Here in the city in front of the mountains locals and guests meet to stroll, enjoy shopping, food and culture and here you will feel the special flair of the city.
