Sylvia & Coach

Another anecdote for tinkerers:

My white steed was also very happy, as it finally got to be used again today. My last tour with it about 6 weeks ago ended a bit prematurely due to extreme squeaking and creaking noises from the crank area. I was absolutely convinced it was the bottom bracket, but it was

To make the most of the departure day, we also visited the Miraflores Locks and the visitor center at the Panama Canal. In addition to the lock operations, the IMAX film beautifully presented the challenges in the conception of the Panama Canal and the canal's importance for the country.

Finally, we rented bikes again for a farewell tour through Panama City. The bikes from Burke Bikes proved to be much more suitable than the junk we had used for our first city tour.

A small adventure for the nerves was the loop to the north, which I had borrowed from a found RR tour. Away from the waterfront

The tour through the rescue station offered an absolutely unique experience, seeing the sloths native to Panama up close and "in action". Other interesting inhabitants at the Panama Nature Center included porcupines, anteaters, a crocodile, and a boa.

A walk through the Metropolitan Natural Park, a nature reserve in the middle of Panama City. Despite the steady stream of visitors, a few wild inhabitants showed themselves: including a sloth, a coati, and a royal woodpecker.

After a short visit on our first bike tour through Panama City, we dedicated another and very rewarding visit to Cerro Ancón. From Panama's highest hill, you not only get a great view of the city, but the nature reserve is also home to exotic animals. High in the trees, we first spotted 2 sloths before
