About Rudi

Promotional event for a manufacturer of high-quality bicycle clothes. As a Paris-Roubaix replacement partly Gravel, with a (in my opinion) superfluous cobblestone course through Freising. But overall a nice route, you don't get there every day from Grafing. And it's just fun with the right people.I traveled there and back by bike, which gave me the first 200 this year.
But in the end it was really enough, the drive through the Ebersberger Forest was a real test.4 days ago

After the snow drift this morning, a trip was hardly conceivable. The greater the surprise in the evening: hardly any snow residue on the meadows, roads free, and even warming sun rays ...
The road from Thann to Ellmoosen was closed due to an accident, there was no way through. So I drove another detour that cost the quarter of an hour, which in the end was a little cold.6 days ago

Nice combination of the two highlights. The ascent to Frauenried is not tarred here either, but it is great to drive.Oh yes: The days of the beard are numbered. Because: Werner Juchem called, the new frame is finished. And if everything goes well, it will be installed this week, if things go worse, next week. That means, there is a proper home tour made of elms!

Today I wanted to build in the new highlight Frauenried again; 80 km were actually planned. But right at the beginning I changed the plan and drove as I wanted.
The beautiful avenue between Bruckmühl and Vagen was new to me, but that's only a short stretch. In Vagen, I suddenly felt like going up the pipeline instead of the mountain. Well, it was a bit of work again; I had to pause 3 times ... At the top it was slowly getting dark. After Frauenried I'm up a different street than last time; It wasn't asphalt, but it had a good surface, which is great to ride. Then back via Großpienzenau, these are lovely little streets in the area.
In the end, the cut was actually quite decent, despite all the climbing.March 30, 2021

At the Irschenberg I had noticed a village from a distance that is completely off the beaten track on a hill. We researched that today. By car to Vagen, then up the Vagener Berg. On the descent to Niederhasling we met Marc and Christian's troop, who had just started up the Vagen water pipe. 😀🖐️We then climbed out of the Leitzach valley over a somewhat muddy, very steep path into a beautiful, hidden high valley, where we partly followed the Irschenberg cycle route until we came over to Frauenried. The village is connected by two asphalt roads, but we took an unpaved road to descend - the joys of the gravel bike.
At the Irschenberg there was a short break with a view before we finished the round. It was worth it, now I just have to build the new tracks into one of my laps.March 28, 2021

Didn't get out of bed as planned this morning; the weather was just too cloudy for me. During the day it got a little better, but still not brilliant; above all it was quite cool.
In the end I got wild garlic for the gnocchi, which is now reasonably ready for harvest. And: after more than 6 months a new rear tire is fitted. Super held, around 6,000 km. Immediately taken the same again.March 27, 2021

Today the other way around again, and improvised freely; and then actually met Peter at misery churches, who was just on his way home. I then drove with him to Högling, rattling, that was nice.
Then took the newly discovered route from Beyharting to Thal via Maxlrain; Since it was not yet quite dark, the descent to Thal was easy to make; only an oncoming Bulldog with guaranteed illegal lighting let me go blind for a short time.
Wouldn't have bet on such a high cut; actually my legs were a bit tired. Maybe it was the section with Peter who tore that out. 😀March 25, 2021

Great weather, even if the cold bites a bit at some point!
Unfortunately, we didn't leave again until half past five, so only had the sun set for barely an hour. But then the moonlight was also great.March 24, 2021
