Picked up my new racing bike (BMC Roadmachine FIVE) at VeloCulTour in Düsseldorf Heerdt today. A small birthday present for tomorrow's 55th. So I was able to go on the long-awaited first small tour. Was really fun.

Today we drove to Grevenbroich. Once through the city in a southerly direction to the Vollratherhöhe (187m embankment), with a nice, moderate 5% incline. Today it was a very relaxed round via Angermund Schloss Heltorf to Aschlöksken. Back via the Rhine route to the Media Harbor and back to Hilden.

Today Claudia rode the Cube e-bike to Düsseldorf Heerdt for inspection. Have used 3% battery, so no E Tour. The thing with the E is totally overrated, since I'm usually on the road beyond 25 km. Still nice feeling to be pushed when starting.

Today's starting point is in Wesel at the Alter Lippehafen. Through the city, past the Willibrordi Cathedral, it goes to the Rhine. You can get to Rees via the Bislich dike.
