The Christlessee is located in the southeast of Oberstdorf near the hamlet of Gottenried in the Trettach valley at an altitude of 916 meters. At the bottom of the lake there are some karst springs that ensure that the crystal-clear Christlessee with drinking water quality never freezes over in winter, as this spring water has a temperature of four to six degrees in summer and winter.
The lake can be reached either via the driveway (only with permission), which leads into the Trettachtal via the Burgstallsteig on Renksteg, or via the sidewalk that branches off at the Mühlenbrücke and leads via pits to Gottenried. Café Christlessee is 100 meters north of the lake and invites you to stop.

A beautiful little lake that is worth a detour on the way from Oberstdorf to Hölltobel. There is a footpath that can be used to go around the lake. Depending on the influence of the light, the color of the Christlessee looks different. Very nice photo opportunities.
