Julius Leber worked on the site of the former coal shop on Torgauer Strasse at the corner of Gotenstrasse in Berlin-Schöneberg during the National Socialist era and met like-minded people from the resistance. After the war, his wife Annedore Leber rebuilt the coal business and also ran the Mosaik publishing house here. Her publications promoted a democratic awareness and understanding of the necessity of resistance under National Socialism.

The coal merchant's buildings were destroyed in the war and in 1950 Annedore Leber had a new house built. In memory of Annedore and Julius Leber, it will now be a place of remembrance and learning. This task is pursued by the working group “Annedore and Julius Leber, a place of learning and memorial” in the Schöneberg district association.

Today's "place of remembrance and learning" for the married couple Annedore and Julius Weber, a former Schöneberg coal trade, was a conspiratorial meeting point of the resistance against the Nazi rule. Information at gedenkort-leber.de
