The focus is on the Titanic, which sank on April 15, 1912, and the British ship Lusitania, which sank on May 7, 1915 after being attacked by a German submarine during World War I. [4] A detailed description of the ship is provided. White Star Line, which owned the Titanic, was based in Liverpool, so the Titanic bore "Liverpool" on her stern. In 2012, rarely seen items related to the Titanic were put on display to mark the 100th anniversary (Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merseyside_Maritime_Museum).

Furthermore, many historical things from the world wars and the period afterwards were exhibited: weapons, clothing, medals as well as model ships and much from the period presented in multimedia format. Very worth seeing and put together in a modern way. I think I recommend planning at least 2 hours for the Maritime Museum alone. The Slavery Museum again the same at time. Great museum and there is no entry fee.

The Merseyside Maritime Museum is located in a historic warehouse right on the promenade of the River Mersey.

The museum's collections illustrate the history of shipping and maritime trade over the centuries, particularly the importance of Liverpool's seaport. Numerous ship models, paintings and drawings are on display. The largest original object is the MV Edmund Gardner, a former pilot ship from 1953, which has now been given a special camouflage paintwork based on the historical dazzle camouflage from the First World War. It is located in the dry dock opposite the museum building.

In 2019, the Merseyside Maritime Museum was visited by around 837,000 people.

Royal Albert Dock is the heart of the city, highlight and visitor magnet in Liverpool. In addition to cafes, bars and restaurants, Liverpool's trendy harbor district is also home to the Merseyside Maritime Museum, a museum on the history of British shipping and an exhibition on the slave trade. Highly recommended.
