Between 1689 and 1703, the Baroque building, designed by the Dutch architect Tylman van Gamerender, was constructed in its present form, modeled after the Roman church of Sant'Andrea della Valle in Rome. (Wikipedia)
For me, the dome is an architectural masterpiece. Sitting in the central part of the church and looking up—especially when the sun is shining—one experiences grandeur, splendor, and magnificence.
