Thank you very much, Laura, for this tour. A very quiet, sunny tour with lots of birdsong. On the way there we almost always saw the striking, slender spire of Andechs Abbey and the Alps were clearly visible in the distance.
The paths were almost exclusively gravel and very pleasant to walk.

This is my favorite tour when I visit. The distance is only 8 km long and back it goes by steamer. I prefer to take the boat upriver, because then you have more time to admire the rocks of the Danube Mountains. At Weltenburg Monastery you can reach the opposite side of the Danube by motor-coaches. That costs 1.50 euros per person. In winter, however, you have to go by ferry, which is about 500 meters upstream from Koster Weltenburg. The walk is beautiful and leads past several vantage points through an area inhabited by the Celts. 2000 years ago, there was a lot to earn there: Iron ore was mined in the open pit. This wealth had to protect the Celts with two mighty ramparts.

Beautiful round hike from Herrsching to Kloster Andechs via Wartaweil. We walked a little bit through the Kiental but then over the Ochsengraben to the high trail to Kloster Andechs. The way back took us via Wartaweil back to the lake promenade.

The sculpture trail around Lake Obinger is impressive. An art mile surrounded by beautiful nature.
The sculpture that means the most to me is the cover picture of this little hike: Actual Situation I by Gerhard Gerstberger (* 1939)
"The artist's steel sculpture near Fürstenfeldbruck is supposed to provide food for thought, as an image of the present state of our earth with all its wounds and injuries: a narrow bridge points to the danger of human existence, reminding us that the 'actual situation' is always can tilt. "
