Pisselberg is a small village between Dannenberg and Hitzacker. There used to be a train station on the Lüneburg-Dannenberg line in Pisselberg. The railway line is still in operation, but the train doesn't stop in Pisselberg these days (if you ask and have a lot of luggage, the engine driver might make an exception).
There is also a road from Dannenberg via Pisselberg to Hitzacker, which I mostly use when I ride my bike to Hitzacker, because there is less traffic and it is also shorter than on the main route.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the historical significance of Pisselberg Village's architecture?

Pisselberg Village has a unique architectural history, largely shaped by a devastating fire in 1847 that reportedly burned the village down completely. Following this, it was rebuilt with a thinned-out core and linear expansion. Many of the reconstructed 19th-century "Vierständer-Hallenhäuser" (four-post hall houses) were oriented with their economic gables facing the marshland, rather than the village street. This distinctive rebuilding phase, largely unchanged since 1848, offers a glimpse into rural German heritage.

Are there any specific landmarks or viewpoints to look out for in Pisselberg Village?

While Pisselberg is a smaller locality, its primary landmarks are the historical 19th-century reconstructed buildings, particularly the distinctive "Vierständer-Hallenhäuser".
