Tips
It was not uncommon for ships to get into "mud trouble" here because the large meadow - the "pig pasture" - was often under water. They ran aground because they missed the harbor entrance to Hitzacker. That was long ago. Today the "Schweineweide" is an idyll and a perfect place to relax.
