As of April 2019:
The ferry runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from April 1st. - End of October daily from Herrenhof (before Bitter) to Hitzacker and back. Only pedestrians and cyclists are taken along (dogs, of course).
The ferry pier at Hitzacker was relocated to the Jeetzel estuary.
