The rustic forests around Rachel - the highest mountain in the Bavarian Forest National Park - have always been considered mysterious. Perhaps that is precisely why the "Große Rachel" (1,453 m) with its legendary Rachelsee has always been a popular excursion destination for many nature lovers.
From this point on the "Buntspecht" hiking trail you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Rachel summit on the way between Racheldiensthütte and Rachelsee.
