With around 1000 square meters, the largest bog eye in the Bavarian Forest National Park is framed by bog and mountain pines, which do not grow upright, but prostrate. Because of this growth form, the pines are called mountain pines. A boardwalk with a platform, which is part of the Schachten and Filze adventure trail (marked 'Wolf'), takes you directly to the lake. The acidic water is extremely poor in nutrients. The moor landscape only offers a suitable habitat for a few highly specialized species, such as the mud sedge or the Andromeda heath.

Great location in a bog pine setting. A nice place to stay. Since it is the largest moor lake in the Bavarian Forest, it is definitely a highlight.
