The Kohlschacht has a size of 7.5 hectares, was first mentioned in 1733 and is at an altitude of 1150 meters. It is the only pit that is not on a slope and has an almost flat surface. Although hikers cannot enjoy a distant view from the Kohlschacht, it is still worth a visit. The forest pasture is particularly impressive due to its very old trees.
