The Jakobikirche is the Protestant Lutheran church in Küps and looks back on a very long and varied time. The church was founded in 1302. However, only a few foundations have survived from this first church. After several conflagrations and military destruction, the church received in 1662 its inner and outer shape in the Margrave's Baroque. Worth seeing is the painted coffered ceiling with 180 colorful fields from the year 1662.
From the end of the 11th century, the Lords of Redwitz were rulers and lords of the area. They also enjoyed a high reputation, as evidenced by a document from 1151, in which the town of Küps is first mentioned. About 150 years later, the Küpser St. Jakobi Church was founded.
