At the beginning of the 14th century, the first buildings of a fortified farm complex were built on the site of today's new castle by the knights Johannes and Hermanus von Redwitz, who also had the first church built in Küps in 1302. Cycling
The "back" or "new" castle in its present form was rebuilt in 1730 by Sigmund Karl von Redwitz, because it was in ruins. The architect of the castle is the great architect of the Baroque Balthasar Neumann. The castle is still owned by the von Redwitz family.
