The Jewish cemetery, which was built on Ebnether Berg in 1620, is one of the largest Jewish cemeteries in Bavaria with almost 2,000 gravestones. The first Jews settled in Burgkunstadt and the surrounding area as early as the middle of the 13th century. The first burial in the cemetery was secured in 1626, although already in 1623 could have taken place, but of which no grave stone is preserved.
