Probably the most beautiful view in the Harz - Brocken view, reservoir view and forest view. Fantastic and really impressive in every season.

The ranger station at Scharfenstein is the stamp point of the HWN 002

But not only is it worth stamping here, the ascent to the Scharfenstein is the real highlight. So be up there. You have a great view from the Eckertalsperre over the Torfhaus to the Brocken.

If the stamp is ever gone or damaged .... the inn has a reserve and also very comfortable.

Urgemütliche Baude where a stop is almost plicht. The stamp box of the Harzer Wanderadel is located on the right bank of the Rangerstation

On the hike a nice opportunity for a rest with a little catering.
Conveniently located to hike to Scharfenstein, Eckertal or Brocken ...

Stamp location of the Harz hiking pin.
It is essential to plan a stop at the ranger station when hiking around the Eckertalsperre.

In the ranger station you can wonderfully take a break. You can eat indoors and out. There is also a small snack. Open from 10am to 4pm. In 15 minutes you get from the station to the Scharfstein. A very rewarding view summit.

The view of the Brocken and the Eckerstausee is fantastic. Whether in good or bad weather: a windbreaker can always be a great advantage here and perfect the summit snack!

Three times may one guess from where the Scharfstein has its name: of course - from the sharp-edged massif, which makes this lookout so wonderful! In addition there is the great view of the Brocken, the proximity to a strengthening Rangerstation and the height: with 697.6m above sea level. NHN you are a bit closer to the Brocken. If you then plan a circumnavigation of the Eckerstausees, you can even see the rest of the tour here.
A windbreaker is always helpful - not for nothing only a few trees could hold here!

Right past the ranger station. On a small Pafd about 5010mtr left into the forest. There the path leads to the ascent to the cliff.

One of the most beautiful vantage points, which I have found so far in the Harz! If you are well signposted from Brocken, you come from the other direction, the signpost is unfortunately not visible. Here you have to be careful because the path branches off to the right at an angle of 135 degrees. The signpost is covered by some spruces, so you do not notice it.

If you do not come from Brocken, you have to be careful, since the rise in 135 degree angle branches off diagonally behind right. The signpost can unfortunately not be seen from this direction, as it is covered by some spruces. But one is inhabited with one of the most beautiful views that can be found nearby! From the Brocken there should be no problems thanks to the signage.
