If it is not suitable for the weather to carry out this tour on 2 days as planned, then you just try it on one day! 🙈
So rescheduled, set the alarm and started at 2:45 a.m. at the Wimbachbrücke near Ramsau.
At sunrise I wanted to have reached the Falzsteig above the tree line. There I was able to enjoy the "blue hour" because I even made it to the Watzmannhaus for the SA.
And then it got violent for the thighs. Up to the Watzmann-Hocheck there was a total of around 2000 meters in altitude in the altimeter.
From a distance, the ridges between the tips look fairly flat. In fact, after each peak you have to climb about 50 meters down the ridge in order to gain the height back to the next peak.
The descent to the southern tip is very demanding. 1200 meters in altitude have to be overcome over 3 km, which took 2 hours.
The last 9 km of the day then go steadily down to the start / finish in Wimbachgries.

With the prognosis that rain and thunderstorms would come around noon, a quick tour changed and the start moved to the Jenner at an altitude of 1,874 m.
With the tight time window, the first Jennerbahn gondola broke through the low cloud cover and enjoyed the wonderful view above the clouds.
From the Jenner in the morning sun there was a brilliant panorama. The Königssee was shrouded in a blanket of clouds far below. Simply fantastic.
Then I went down to the alpine meadows, where I could enjoy the most beautiful viewpoints in large arches.
Unfortunately, the Gotzenalm was no longer there, but I was able to have a good snack at the Königsbachalm.
From up there you could see the bad weather approaching and so I went back down into the valley at a pork gallop, where I took the first refreshing shower with me on the last kilometer.
Today I learned that you can also climb mountains very comfortably from above 🤣
Conclusion of the day: Everything done right

Now that all the peaks are covered up today, I just don't do anything ... almost 😊
And the public is excluded from the thermal bath and sauna afternoons. 🤷‍♂️🙂

The hiking day began with a boat trip to St. Bartholomä. There was the start of my today's tour, the Rinnkendlsteig up to the Achenkanzel and on to the Kührointalm.
The muscle cat 🐈‍⬛ from the previous day usually takes care of itself very quickly on the first ascent. And if there is 700 m ascent to conquer in the first 3.5 km, then the beast has broken out. 😈No guarantee for other failure phenomena.
With all the effort, the Rinnkendlsteig is awesome. When taking a breather, there is often a wonderful view back and down to the Königssee and the views become more fantastic with every meter of altitude.
From the Kührointalm it should then only go back down over the Grünstein to Schönau ..... actually🙈
From there you have a great view of the Watzmann and Watzmannhaus.
I am not allowed to take breaks and come up with stupid ideas ... too late! 🤦‍♂️
And the realization of the day: Above 1000m I use an average of 0.5l wheat beer per 3km. 😉🤣

In the best weather on a crisp, steep path up to the Kehlsteinhaus. Great views down to the Königssee and the surrounding mountains to Salzburg and beyond.
As a descent, Komoot suggested a route that was really heavy. I was wondering about the missing signage and the missing markings in the climb. It went over slippery scree fields and crash sites, where the rope-insured passages were removed.
Well, now I was right in the middle of it. But I grew up in Bad Grund and we weren't called "Grundner Mountain Goats" for nothing. 🐐
It was almost a kilometer downhill and for the first time I had the experience that a downhill section depresses the average speed. It was extreme, but somehow it was also fun. 💪
The wheat beer was allowed to have alcohol today. Hello 🙂

After arriving, the first moments of relaxation at the Königssee. Afterwards, a short tour of discovery along the bank is planned. I have no idea why it then escalated in km and hm 🙈😂

Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe has also been on my to-do list for a long time😉. And according to your pictures, it seems to be really worth it😍👍

After today's 30 km tour in the Hessian-Thuringian mountains, I was already on the way home when I saw the Bismarck Tower on top of the Großer Leuchtberg in the evening sun. Why not ignore your tired legs and go up there again at sunset. Stupid idea, but good 😆
Quickly to the gas station and get an alcohol-free and above all cold treat ..... a reward must be! 😊
Quickly searched for a starting point and quickly up, because the sun was already quite low.
I haven't regretted the spontaneous decision, but now I'm really going home and after a total of 33 km and 1400 meters of altitude, there is only a bathtub 🛁 and bed waiting there today. 😴
