The statue of José Ángel Iribar (nickname "Txopo", Basque for "poplar"), the legendary goalkeeper icon of Athletic Club, stands in the middle of the forecourt of the San Mamés Stadium in Bilbao. The monument was officially unveiled on December 16, 2023, to honor the record player (614 appearances) on the occasion of the club's 125th anniversary.
