The beautiful historic Rathausbrücke (inaugurated in 1934) was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War and later rebuilt. It was originally christened the "Begoña Bridge" and was formerly designed as a bascule bridge. Incidentally, the tower, in which all the technology was housed, is still visible today.
