At Moll de Bosch in Alsina is the Puerto de Barcelona building – the historic building of the Port Authority of Barcelona (in Catalan: edifici de la Junta d’Obres del Port). It was built in 1903-07 according to a project by civil engineer Julio Valdés, who was the deputy director of the port at the time. It was planned as a passenger terminal with post and customs offices. On the upper floor, the restaurant El Mundial Palace was added, and one year after its opening, a commercial museum was also opened in the building.
