Evening in Monterey Downtown. 6 million inhabitants and almost 430 years old. One of the largest cities in Mexico.
A ride on the canal brought a nice cool evening breeze. The route is very nicely lit.

We decided on Veurne, right on the French border. A beautiful small town with a market square, St. Walburga Church, St. Nicholas Church, a World War memorial, and lots of flair.

Next bike tour with my daughter.

A day in Bruges. A beautiful sunny day.
Market Square, Historicum, St. Salvator's Cathedral, canals, no matter where you go it is beautiful.

This tour goes in the direction of De Haan along the Beaufort route.
It was a beautiful cycle path, partly along the promenade and through a beautiful polder landscape.
There was a small photo at Albert Einstein Park.
We saw goats in a playground and front gardens, and sheep, horses and cows in the polders

The first family tour by bike. Laura on a rented one.
It was a brisk ride around Bredene and Ostend.
We saw a lot of surfers and crossed the harbor of Ostend by ferry to Bredene in between.
As a reward, we had waffles, ice cream, and dinner at the Beach Bar.

The fort was built by Napoleon to fend off England.
However, it was never used, England did not want to attack Ostend.
In World War I, Germany wanted to reactivate the fort and first had to shovel it free of sand. A dedicated railway line was built for this purpose and the fort's walls were raised.
