Hiking

A port built by the Venetians in the first half of the 14th century. It was an important commercial and military base and could accommodate more than 20 ships at a time. Some of the harbor buildings and fortifications that the Turks used to surround the harbor in the 17th century have survived to this day.
There are currently numerous restaurants, bars and taverns around the harbor. It is one of the busiest parts of Chania where life continues late into the night.
