The Old Market Hall "Agora" is one of the central landmarks of Chania.
Unfortunately it is currently being restored/renovated.
Cross-shaped and in the center of the city, it was built between 1911 and 1913 based on the model of the Marseille market hall and is unique in Greece.
108 years after it was built and 26 years! According to the initial restoration plans, the reconstruction of the Chania Municipal Market began in November 2021. Two years of construction were planned, but it didn't look like there was an end in sight.

The best patsas (tripe) in all of Crete.
You sneak into the market hall of Chania from the east side (directly opposite the west side).
The smallest tavern on the right is Agapinis. Open from 4 a.m. in the morning.
