The bronze statue of the "Dancing Tachau Woman" by Weiden sculptor Günter Mauermann, who hails from the Sudetenland, is almost two and a half meters high. A wedding procession from the Cheb region adorns the frieze on all four sides. The "Dancing Tachau Woman" commemorates the city of Weiden's sponsorship of the Tachau (now Tachov) district since 1956.

Erected in 1971, the boulder, made of Flossenbürg granite, was donated by the Egerländer Gmoi z'Geretsried and initially placed at the Grenzlandturm (Grenzland Tower) in Bärnau. In 2002, it was moved to Weiden, the town that had adopted the Tachau homeland district in 1956. The granite map of the homeland was created by stonemason Helmut Krohe in 1982, and the inscription was by master stonemason Horst Raithel.
