"De Valk" (The Falcon) is a gallery mill from 1743 and has seven floors, all of which can be visited. The miller lived with his family on the ground floor. From the gallery you have a nice view of the city Leiden.

Road cycling

This is a monumental windmill that stands on the Singel. The reason for the height of the windmill is the houses (the wind turbulence needs to be minimal and the houses may cause turbulence).

For this reason it needs to be taller than the houses and the once existing ramparts of Leiden.
