The new observation tower is modeled after a pine cone. At over 45 meters high, the tower offers views across the Franconian Forest, the Fichtel Mountains, and Thuringia.
The ascent leads via an external staircase equipped with generous platforms. Here, visitors can pause for a moment and admire the natural surroundings. At the end of the climb, a viewing platform awaits, offering a breathtaking 360-degree view.
For those unable to climb the stairs, there's also a solution: a 360-degree camera at the highest point of the tower allows visitors to admire the view from the comfort of the information center or even online.

The long-awaited attraction is complete: From the Pressecker Knock, you can now see far into the countryside. The panoramic view over the Franconian Forest extends to the Fichtel Mountains and Thuringia.

You're not allowed to climb up yet, though. There's still some work to be done on the tower, and it's even supposed to get Christmas lights. It should be accessible by New Year's Eve, if possible.

With the bolting of the top platform, the tallest and most expensive subproject was completed on November 26th. A special heavy-duty crane was required, capable of safely lifting the 14-ton platform onto the 40-meter-high tower. The new Pressecker landmark now weighs a total of 110 tons. It will have cost approximately €2.5 million.

The 40-meter-high observation tower is one of several attractions in the Franconian Forest around Presseck, Wartenfels, and Marktrodach. A 30-meter-long children's slide is coming soon, the curling rink in Presseck is also nearing completion, and there's already the Outdoorsteigla in Presseck, a water playground in Wartenfels, an e-bike charging station, and soon an agricultural-themed playground in Marktrodach.

These attractions are now gradually being completed, funded by a European funding pool from the Upper Franconia Foundation and the Kulmbach district. A total of six million euros has been invested, with the municipality's contribution amounting to just over one million.

More than 200 steps lead up to the final platform of the over 40-meter-high observation tower at Pressecker Knock. On a clear day, you can see from the Fichtel Mountains to Thuringia.

The tower is open daily and free of charge.

A parking lot is located 150 meters away.

At the base of the tower, there are bike racks, lockers, and plenty of great play equipment for young and old.

        Always worth a visit. 5⭐
