The raft pond at the Bischofsmühle was one of the raft ponds built in this region around the 16th century, which were indispensable for rafting and drifting. The former reservoir for rafting operations is located in the Wild Rodach valley. It is probably a medieval complex that was built on the orders of the Bamberg bishops. Since the raft pond was in a critical state of construction, it was reconstructed in 1999 according to plans by the water management office in Hof according to historical templates - but with modern control technology.
