This Lobdeburg was already in ruins in Goethe's time and was lyrically processed by him in the poem “Bergschloss”. Below the ruins there is the Lobdeburgklause with a beautiful beer garden.

Currently, the Lobdeburg is being renovated, a fence protects a large area around the ruins. However, one has a very good view over Jena and can then stop off in the restaurant.

An interesting little ruin, which should be on one of the many hikes around Jena. Afterwards the associated restaurant is not far away. ^^

The Lobdeburg is a ruined castle between Lobeda and Drackendorf, districts of Jena.
Three different buildings claim the name Lobdeburg, namely the upper, middle and lower castle. The middle of the three castles is regarded as the actual Lobdeburg.
