Fuchsturm

If you go hiking around Jena, you shouldn't miss the Fuchsturm. It is easy to reach if, for example, you start your tour from the parking lot at Steinkreuz. The tower itself can be climbed free of charge and from its top you can enjoy an excellent view of Jena.

Anyone who has managed the steep ascent from Ziegenhein can rest up here and strengthen themselves with delicious food and drink.

The view from the Fox Tower is highly recommended. Likewise the absolutely delicious food in the restaurant, there is very tasty home-style cuisine at very moderate prices ;-)

The oldest mountain restaurant in Jena. Opening times: Tuesday to Friday 11.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. / Saturday 11.30 a.m. to 11 p.m. / Sunday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. / closed on Mondays. Open on request.

I really enjoy being up here, always a pleasure to look down the valley. And the inn is very good too. ;-)

Once you are up there you have a wonderful view of and over Jena. Even better from the top of the tower 👍

I could not test the gastronomy yet. However, the view is nice.

Even if you cannot climb the tower at the moment, there is already a wonderful view from the foot of the tower.

Unfortunately the tower was closed on Monday.

Worth a trip in every season, wonderful view. Very good menu and friendly helpful staff!
The surrounding area and Fox Tower itself are well suited for family outings. Nice walk from the P stone cross is recommended.

Going up the stairs is worth it. Above you can learn a lot about the history of these castles using a hand crank machine.
