Not far from Forsthaus Silbertal lies this PWV-Ritterstein. Here was formerly an old road junction with a customs station between the diocese of Speyer and the Palatinate. Furthermore stood here a Prussian ski jump from the time of the revolutionary wars 1793-1997.

This is one of the more than 300 knight stones of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV).
It stands directly on the K 16 county road (Wachenheim - Lindenberg) and indicates a very "busy" place with an eventful history: In Roman times, a junction from Speyer via the Weinbiet to Lambertskreuz, then a customs station (between the Electorate of the Palatinate and the Diocese of Speyer) and in 1794 a Prussian redoubt (against the French revolutionary troops).
